ZAK’s 40-57 kg/m rail range supports a broad spectrum of African railway infrastructure, from high-density industrial and mining sidings to general freight mainlines and heavy-haul corridors.
Available Rail Profiles
- 40kg/m: Optimised for industrial sidings, locomotive tracks and compatible lighter-duty applications.
- 48kg/m: A proven profile for standard mainline and general freight operations.
- 57kg/m: Reinforced rail for demanding freight, mining and heavy-haul export corridors with higher axle loads.
Material Grade Options
- Grade 700: General-purpose rail for light rail and siding applications, with tensile strength from 700 MPa.
- Grade 900A: High-strength rail for mining and heavy industrial service, with tensile strength from 880-900 MPa.
- R260: Fine pearlitic mainline rail with tensile strength from 880 MPa and hardness of 260-300 HBW.
Key Specifications
- Manufactured in accordance with EN 13674-1 and applicable ISCOR/South African profile requirements.
- Produced under ISO 9001:2015 certified quality-management systems.
- Standard supply lengths of 9 m, 12 m and 18 m.
- Controlled dimensional tolerances for rail height, flange width, head width, web thickness and straightness.
- Supplied with Material Test Certificates and Certificates of Conformance.
